Bacchanalia Featured on Food & Wine's Best Classic Restaurant in Every State

“Launching in the heart of Buckhead over a quarter century ago, Anne Quatrano’s Bacchanalia has been one of Atlanta’s finest restaurants ever since, an authentic celebration of good, local produce, some of it from Quatrano’s own farm. Some of the city’s most talked-about chefs have come through the restaurant, which recently moved for the third time, to a part of the city that couldn’t be any less central, but by now everyone knows—if Quatrano and husband/partner Cliff Harrison are betting on a neighborhood, they probably know exactly what they're doing.”

Bacchanalia Featured in Eater Atlanta's 9 Restaurants to Try This Weekend Around Atlanta

For familial moments over a fancy dinner

“Earlier this week, I had dinner with a very good friend at Bacchanalia. Sure, there were plenty of other restaurants we could have gone to, even brand new ones to try. But there’s something truly special about this spot. People are usually put off by the prix fixe price tag, but I’ve gone to my fair share of places where I’ve spent a lot more and gotten a lot less. The food here has stood the test of time. Staples like the foie gras (definitely get the seared upgrade,) crab fritter, New York strip, duck three ways, and the seasonal soufflé are clear winners. However, they also keep things fresh, like adding seafood “towers” and interesting delicacies, along with the surprise amuse bouche treats between courses. For me, it’s the priceless moments in time I’ve had at Bacchanalia that have mattered most. Whenever my family comes to visit from NYC, there’s always one special night at Bacchanalia. My sisters and I have had what we call “therapy sessions” working through our relationships over long, lingering dinners. It’s become a running joke with the staff now that we are always the last table to leave. Moments of hilarity with my frugal Dad carefully counting each line item of the bill in typical, dad behavior, making me miss him even more. Celebrating my Mom’s milestones — both of reaching significant ages and surviving what life has thrown at her. The staff, feeling like extended family — each one coming over to me to say hello and give me a hug. My friend was slightly surprised, he didn’t expect such familial connections to be had here. But after nearly 14 years, Bacchanalia (in a great way) has helped me make Atlanta my home. 1460 Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard — Sarah-Ann Soffer, Eater Atlanta contributor”
